Reverse thigh stand
Skill Tree
Technique
- Both partners start standing, with the flyer facing away from the base.
- The base takes a C-grip on the flyer's hips and the flyer holds the base's hands with a C-grip .
- The base bends the knees to 90 degrees, as if sitting in a chair, to make a shelf for the flyer's feet.
- The flyer places one foot on the base's near thigh and, when both are ready, steps up and places the other foot on the base's other thigh.
- Once stable, the flyer can release the hands from the base's wrists.
- To exit, the flyer reconnects at the base's wrists and the base brings both back to a centred position so the flyer can step off safely.
Form tips
- The 90-degree bend in the base's legs makes a shelf for the flyer to step on without slipping.
- This is a counterbalance: both partners lean away from each other, holding each other up.
- The base holds most of the flyer's weight, but the load should be shared; if it is uneven, the base sits deeper to help the flyer lean forward.
- The flyer keeps the Core engaged with the chest and gaze forward.
